Destination

Joshua Steele · July 27, 2023

At long last, our journey has brought us back to Ukraine! In this episode we’ll talk about moving, missile strikes, Bible First French, and the return of our CMO project this summer.

Has someone been telling you that the war in Ukraine is fake news? The US didn’t do this. NATO didn’t do this. This is the naked aggression of Russia alone, and today it hit pretty close to home.

Cruise Missile Strike in Lviv

Joshua Steele · July 6, 2023

Last Monday, July 3, we completed the final wave of our move back to Ukraine. Or house here in Lviv is in a somewhat chaotic state as we try to unpack, get rid of clutter, and readjust to life in Ukraine. Notwithstanding the stress of yet another international move, we are glad to be home! Sadly, it didn’t take long for us to be reminded that Ukraine is still at war.

This is the valley in Slovakia where God has kept and blessed our family over the past year. Our village, Mojš, is visible on the far right below the river and above the Kia factory.

Countdown

Joshua Steele · June 7, 2023

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year and three months since we evacuated from Ukraine on a bitter-cold March morning in 2022. During this time, God has kept and blessed our family in Slovakia. We have connected with a wonderful church family consisting of Slovaks, Ukrainians, Czechs, Americans, and Britons. These people have become very dear to us, and we are keenly aware that we are leaving a piece of our hearts here. Now, the time has come to return to Ukraine and our ministry in Lviv.

Ukrainian Angels

Joshua Steele · April 3, 2023

This interview is long overdue for publishing, but today it’s finally ready. In this episode, we take you once again to the small Ukrainian town of Radekhiv — this time for an interview with the director of the “Hostesses of Radekhiv”, Milena Slyusarchuk. You’ll be sobered, inspired, and I hope challenged by Milena’s story. Listen as she shares her firsthand experiences bringing aid to soldiers on the front lines of Ukraine’s war against Russian tyranny.

Trying to enter Ukraine with a Belorussian citizen is not easy in these times of conflict and uncertainty. There were some tense moments, and we thought we might have to spend the whole night on the border…

Midnight Invasion

Joshua Steele · February 1, 2023

Today we’d like to share the story of our most recent trip into Ukraine. Our primary objective was to reunite a Ukrainian family separated by the war. But as you’ll find out in this episode, God led us through a whole string of adventures. As always, He was faithful to guide and protect our way.

Serhii Chepara: Christian, husband, father, Ukrainian soldier

A Soldier’s Perspective

Joshua Steele · December 23, 2022

Ukraine is now in its tenth month of a war for its very existence. In this episode, we’ll ask Serhii Chepara for his perspective on a variety of questions related to the largest European conflict since World War 2. Serhii currently serves with the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Odessa, and we’re grateful for his commitment to defending his country.
