Recently, Kelsie was asked to speak at a two-day family seminar here in Lviv. She was joined by Katelin Day, and together they delivered a series of talks aimed at encouraging and equipping young mothers. This is Kelsie’s report of the event in her own words.

A Chance to Give Back

Kelsie Steele · August 12, 2017

“God,” I whispered, “will you help me?” I sat in a small bedroom hearing the spring breeze rustle the curtains and play in my hair. I wiped my sweaty palms and tried to take some deep breaths. It wasn’t the first time I had to face my nervousness and take on a public speaking opportunity in a foreign language.

Meet Ralph

Joshua Steele · August 4, 2017

Over the years, I’ve corresponded with many young men about ministering in Ukraine. The ones who come here usually do so to participate in our CMO project. This year, we decided to skip CMO so we could focus on some behind-the-scenes work, but God sent us a young man anyway. His name is Ralph, and I’d like for you to meet him.

Lviv has recently gained some nice outdoor attractions, including a rope course. Check out this collection of photos from our weekend excursion!

Last Sunday, I took all the kids from our Bible First class to a rope course here in Lviv. We had a fun time and thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures.

Spring Family Photos

Spring is here! And that means family photos. :) Our little David Noble is now 4 months old, and until now he’s been conspicuously absent from our main family portrait. Time to fix that!

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our fourth daughter, Kathryn Grace Steele! Kathryn was born on December 30, 2014 at 12:00am. She was 20 and 3/4 inches long and weighed 8 lbs., 12 oz.

Welcome, Kathryn Grace!

Last spring, when Kelsie and I learned that we were expecting a baby, our first task was to decide where to have the birth. Given the complications we experienced during Hosanna’s birth, we felt that this time it would be wisest to come home to the U.S. We’ve been here for nearly five months now, and God has blessed tremendously. Kathryn was born at my parent’s home in Texas, and both mother and baby are recovering quite well. Our midwife, Judith Hynds, and her assistant Jenee Ohrvall, did an outstanding job, and we highly recommend them both!

Family Saturday

Joshua Steele · March 10, 2012

Today we decided to take the whole family out for trip to downtown Lviv. We started with a nice lunch at Puzata Khata (a great place to try national Ukrainian dishes) followed by visit to our favorite indoor playground at Antoshka. I brought my camera along and got some fun photos of our cute kiddos. Hope you enjoy them!

Life is Colorful

Joshua Steele · November 8, 2011

Lviv is beautiful in the fall. For a large city, it’s quite rich in plant life. Even the downtown area boasts rows of large trees which are now displaying all kinds of vibrant colors. In a way, all these shifting colors remind me of the current state of affairs here in Ukraine. Many things are changing, and as always we are in need of your prayers as we move forward.

Upstream

Joshua Steele · March 2, 2011

Last weekend, I had the privilege of speaking at the national Campus Crusade for Christ conference in Vinnystya. Their were about 275 people in attendance from Ukraine and Belarus, as well as few from other countries. The theme of the conference was “Living Upstream”. That is, following after Christ (upstream) as opposed to following the world (downstream). The topics were primarily aimed at believers, though I also had many opportunities to present the Gospel to unbelievers. Here’s a quick overview of the four sessions I taught, followed by some pictures.
